Last Saturday, 21 October 2023, we had the honor of participating in the Maker Faire in Rome at the stand of the Cosenza Chamber of Commerce. This event represented an exceptional opportunity to share our experiences and the challenges faced in agriculture 4.0, thanks to the use of drones.
Agriculture 4.0 is a revolution in the agricultural sector, as it integrates cutting-edge technologies to make food production more efficient, sustainable and accessible. In this context, drones play a crucial role, allowing detailed data to be collected and significant improvements to be made in various aspects of agriculture.
At the Maker Faire, we had the opportunity to present our progress in using drones to monitor and manage crops. We have illustrated how these agricultural drones allow us to detect fundamental data, such as soil moisture, plant health, geo-morphological conditions and much more. This data gives us a detailed overview of crops, allowing us to make more informed decisions about resource management and crop planning.
Furthermore, we shared how the use of drones in agriculture has the potential to reduce the use of fertilizers, thus improving the agricultural ecosystem and reducing environmental impact. Drones also help us monitor crop growth more efficiently, allowing for more sustainable management of water resources.
